Speaking in an interview on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” with host Jesse Watters, famed investor and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary, also jokingly called “Mr. Wonderful,” sounded off on Vice President and likely 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, saying that the good press she has recently received will soon come to an end as people realize how awful it is.
As background, VP Harris has had something of a honeymoon period with the media following President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out and name her as his chosen successor, but that is starting to come to an end as stories service about her horrible staff retention history and her limited accomplishments as a senator and vice president.
O’Leary noted that Kamala’s brutally bad past will likely cause trouble for her in this election cycle, as she has a limited achievement history and has many bad policy decisions in her past. He said, “In the next two weeks, the happy talk is going to have to stop because someone’s going to sit her down and say, ‘let’s talk inflation, let’s talk border, let’s talk policy on energy. Let’s talk policy on foreign affairs.’”
He continued, saying that Trump at least has a history of policies on which he can be judged, whereas Kamala has done little. He said, “If she wants to win, she’s got to go to the center. But she’s got to have some ideas on how to run the country. You might hate Trump, but he has this track record of policy. You might hate him. I get it. But you’ve got to do something.”
Continuing, O’Leary then referred to the recent report showing Kamala’s abysmal, 92 percent staff turnover rate in her vice presidential office, saying, “That’s an extraordinary number. You’re wiping out your entire staff. Obviously, a problem there, but this narrative going on with Kamala Harris now is very interesting.”
Mr. Wonderful added, when Watters asked him how Kamala could lead the country if she couldn’t even lead fifty people in her office, that it is worth asking if she has even achieved anything of note. He said, “It would be important to leave aside the politics and ask, ‘What has Kamala Harris actually done, actually achieved?’”
He then noted how he would use his business experience if hiring her, saying, “Because if I was hiring her – and I’m not trying to be partisan – I would ask her, ‘What was a goal? What did you achieve?’ Because any governor or any senator that would put into presidential viability would have a history, a track record of doing stuff.”
