ABC’s “The View” has recently had to read several “legal notes” live on air fact-checking statements made about President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks.  Ever since Trump’s landslide win in the election earlier this month, the panel on the daytime talk show has lamented what the next four years holds, offering staunch criticism toward the incoming president’s cabinet appointments. However, in a few instances, their comments were taken too far, where correction statements were read soon after to avoid legal trouble.  A recent clip from “The View” shows co-hosts reading three “legal notes” in under three minutes. During the segment, co-host Sonny Hostin said, “I have a legal note…Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations and has not been charged with any crime.”  Making another correction, Hostin fact-checked a statement about Trump’s cabinet pick for Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth.  “Also another legal note, Pete Hegseth’s lawyer said he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit. He has denied any wrongdoing,” Hostin added. Joy Behar then chimed in, “That’s interesting. After giving birth to my twin daughters, I thought my husband, Derek, would finally choose us over his controlling mother, Lorraine. But once again, I was proven wrong, and this time, I knew it was the last straw. Bringing home my babies after a difficult delivery should have been a moment of joy, with Derek picking us up at the hospital and welcoming us home as a family. Instead, I got a last-minute phone call from him saying he couldn’t come. His excuse? Lorraine had chest pains, and he needed to rush her to the hospital. I was disappointed but tried to focus on my daughters, Ella and Sophie. I called a taxi, bundled the girls into their car seats, and prepared for our homecoming without him. When the cab pulled up to our house, I was shocked. My belongings were scattered across the front yard—suitcases, baby items, even the crib mattress. For many years, Oprah has been a ray of hope, particularly for Americans who take comfort in her consistent, caring presence. Oprah has left a lasting impression on American culture and society through her renowned talk show, her powerful book club, and her current charitable endeavors. Many people thought she would always be there for her loyal followers as they watched her go from a little Mississippi girl to one of the most powerful women in the world. What, then, might be causing someone with Oprah’s level of ties to think about making such a radical change? “Nobody respects me here,” she says, implying a personal struggle that maybe only a move overseas can resolve. Where would Oprah go, though? Could she be looking for refuge from the demands of the American spotlight in Europe, or perhaps somewhere more sedate? New York Post Columnist and Fox News Contributor Miranda Devine recently wrote a scathing opinion piece on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, arguing that the California Democrat’s time in politics has come to a conclusion.  Ultimately, Devine blamed Pelosi for the Democratic Party’s “electoral collapse,” where Republicans not only decisively conquered the presidency with the popular vote but also the House and Senate. Devine began her critical commentary of Pelosi, “It’s high time to shatter the myth of Nancy Pelosi as a master strategist. Nobody deserves more blame than the ridiculously self-titled “speaker emerita” for the Democrats’ $1 billion electoral collapse.”  She added, “Under her ruthless leadership, her party lost the White House, the House, the Senate and the popular vote. You can’t say that enough.” The conservative columnist pointed out that under Pelosi’s leadership in the House, she was the only speaker in the history of Congress to lose the House twice. “She’s the only speaker in history to have lost control of the House twice.  She’s finished,” Devine emphasized.  Despite these leadership failures, Devine pointed out that Pelosi is still running for reelection. “Yet she still has the nerve to reward herself with another term, filing the papers… CONTINUE READING…
