Among them was a four-year-old girl, her tiny voice calling out to her father as he stood on the deck. Seeing her struggle to make herself heard, a nearby police officer stepped in with an unforgettable act of kindness. He handed the girl his PA system microphone, amplifying her heartfelt words of love across the water: “Goodbye, Daddy! It’s truly heartbreaking how cruel some people can be to animals. A sweet dog named Riona endured unimaginable suffering when her owner brutally set her on fire last year. Almost exactly a year after that horrific event, Riona is finally heading to her new forever home. In June, residents of Nutbush, Tennessee were horrified to witness Riona, a pitbull mix, running down the street engulfed in flames. The overwhelming smell of gasoline made it clear that she had been intentionally set on fire. “All you could smell was gas,” said Mallory Mclemore of Bluff City Veterinary Specialists in an interview with Memphis Commercial Appeal. “She was burnt and covered in diesel fuel… It was clear she had been set on fire, as confirmed by witness statements,” said Ginger Natoli, founder of Tails of Hope Dog Rescue, in a conversation with Newsweek. “We also obtained ring camera footage from a neighbor showing her running in a ball of flames.” Although Riona’s ear was burned off, her left eye was fortunately saved after immediate medical treatment. Frito-Lay recalled some 13-ounce bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips on December 16 because they contained unreported milk, which is dangerous for people who have milk allergies or sensitivities. The company looked into the recall and acted right away after receiving a consumer alert. Specifics of the Recall A few retail and online retailers in Oregon and Washington received the impacted products. These chips might have been bought by customers as early as November 3, 2024. Customers should search for the following information in order to identify the affected bags: Customers who are allergic to milk are advised by Frito-Lay to throw away these chips right away in order to prevent allergic reactions. Although there haven’t been any reported allergic reactions thus far, the business advises being cautious to be safe. The United States Military Academy West Point has recently come under fire for giving false information to a journalist attempting to write a critical piece about President-elect Donald Trump’s selection for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.  Many have since spoken out against the prestigious institution calling for those involved in the incident to be held accountable.
