Diane Delano, the beloved actress known for her iconic roles in  television and film, has passed away at the age of 67. She succumbed to cancer on December 13, 2024, at her home in Sherman Oaks, California. Her death was confirmed by her friend, Stepfanie Kramer, as reported by Deadline.

Born on January 29, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, Diane Delano carved out a niche as a versatile and highly regarded actress. Over the years, her unmistakable voice and commanding presence endeared her to audiences, and her talent spanned across television series and films.

Diane’s acting career began in the early 1980s, where she appeared in roles in popular television series like Falcon Crest and Hunter. Her ability to portray strong yet likable characters allowed her to shine in a variety of roles, building her reputation within the entertainment industry.

During the 1990s, Diane’s career truly took off when she was cast as Sergeant Barbara Semanski in the hit series Northern Exposure. Her portrayal of Semanski spanned multiple seasons, appearing in 12 episodes and solidifying her place in TV history.

In 1999, Diane reached another milestone in her career with her standout role as Coach Sue Sylvester in the cult classic Popular. Created by Ryan Murphy, her role was beloved for its sharp wit and humor, adding a memorable layer to the show’s ensemble.
