The forensic pathologist

Posted on August 5, 2025

I’m experiencing a difficult mix of emotions right now, as I have growing concerns about a situation involving my girlfriend and a medical professional. Something about it doesn’t feel right, and it’s been weighing heavily on me.

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend had surgery on her leg. It was a fairly standard procedure—nothing out of the ordinary, based on the diagnosis and everything the surgeon explained. From the start, the situation seemed straightforward, and we weren’t expecting any complications. However, there were a few things that stood out to me as unusual, especially in how the scheduling of the surgery played out.

Originally, the surgery was booked for a specific day, which we had both planned around. Then, about a week before that date, the hospital contacted her and said the surgery needed to be moved up due to what they called “a special situation” involving room availability. This change seemed unexpected, but not alarming.

Then, just days before the new date, they contacted her again and told her it would now happen the next day. At that point, the back-and-forth with the scheduling started to feel disorganized and somewhat concerning. While I understand that hospitals have to adjust for emergencies or logistical reasons, the short notice and multiple changes made me wonder what was really going on behind the scenes.

The procedure was scheduled to take place early in the morning—around 8:00 AM. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be there with her on the day of the surgery due to some unavoidable circumstances. However, I stayed in close contact with her sister and a good friend of hers who were both present and supporting her throughout the process.

They updated me regularly and reassured me that everything seemed to be going smoothly. Still, I found myself thinking about all the schedule changes and wondering if there was something more to it—maybe just my overthinking, maybe not. It’s hard not to feel uneasy when you’re not there in person to see things for yourself, especially when the situation involves someone you deeply care about.

Since the surgery, she’s been recovering steadily, which I’m thankful for. But I can’t help holding on to a few questions in the back of my mind—some things that didn’t quite add up. I’m not making any accusations or jumping to conclusions, but I believe when something feels off, it’s okay to acknowledge that feeling and look at the full picture.
