Amish woman dies, 2 others injured after Jeep collides with buggy, authorities say

GLADWIN, Mich. (WNEM/Gray News) – A tragic crash involving a Jeep and an Amish horse-drawn buggy has left one woman dead and two others hospitalized, according to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of Friday, August 1, along Round Lake Road in Gladwin County, Michigan. Amish Buggy Hit From Behind by SUV Authorities report that a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 38-year-old woman, was traveling northbound when it collided with the rear of an Amish buggy carrying three Amish women, aged 58, 25, and 17. The impact of the crash caused catastrophic damage to the buggy and tragically claimed the life of the 58-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two women, aged 25 and 17, sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been publicly disclosed. The driver of the Jeep did not report serious injuries at the time of the crash.
