“Found this while cleaning at work. No clue what it is. Anyone know? 🧐”
While going through some routine cleaning at work, I came across this small, metal piece. At first, I had no idea what it was. It looked kind of like a bullet or some sort of odd projectile — but after some closer inspection and a little digging, I realized this is actually a cover for an Instant Pot valve!
This little cover goes on the inside of the lid, where it protects the steam release valve and helps control pressure during cooking. It might look a bit worn or misshapen from use, but that’s all part of the natural wear and tear that happens when you’re dealing with cooking tools like these.
If you’ve ever taken apart an Instant Pot for cleaning or maintenance, you’ve probably encountered this part before. Its odd shape and patina are simply the result of everyday use and exposure to heat, steam, and pressure.
