Newly released 2017 text messages from Jeffrey Epstein’s files, unsealed by Congress on Nov. 13, 2025, have revealed Epstein’s persistent efforts to reconnect with Bill Gates about a proposed donor-advised fund. The relationship proposed by the messages were thwarted by Bill Gates’ then-wife, Melinda, who disapproved.
For context, Gates’ adviser told Epstein: “He wants to talk to you but his wife won’t let him,” adding Gates “loves you,” “says hi,” and regretted the idea’s demise because “his wife wouldn’t allow.” Epstein suggested Kathryn Ruemmler speak to and sway Melinda, but no meeting occurred. Gates later called the ties a “huge mistake.” Eventually, Melinda cited them in their 2021 divorce.
In any case, newly released 2017 messages from Gates’ personal Adviser explained that Epstein wanted to talk with the tech founder but was ultimately unsuccessful. “He wants to talk to you but his wife won’t let him. He loves you,” a message to Epstein from Gates’ advisor read. “He says hi. He feels bad about the [donor advised fund] btw He thought great idea but wife wouldn’t allow.”Responding, the corntoversia lfinancier responded that he “Would love to sit with Melinda and give her the other side of Jeffrey.”
Commenting on the embarrassing relationship later in 2019, Gates said, “I didn’t have any business relationship or friendship with him.” Additionally, he said that his time with Epstein was a “Huge mistake.” Later, his now ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, said, “I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein. I made that clear to him.
Reacting to the scandal on social media, one comment asked, “Why are Dems DEAD SILENT about Bill Gates Epstein Bromance? … Melinda French Gates has repeatedly confirmed that Bill Gates’s association with Jeffrey Epstein was a significant factor in their 2021 divorce.”
Another viral post noted, “None of the people in these emails lovingly chatting with Epstein will face social consequences and we know this because in 2019 it was revealed Bill Gates met with Epstein several times—and his wife of 30+yrs divorced him over it!!—and this basically went into a memory hole.”
However, as we reported, Trump has been able to distance himself from the sort of allegations plaguing Bill Gates. Starting off, the most recent incident, Mary Bruce, who works for ABC, asked Trump an unfair question. “Mr. President, why haven’t you ordered the full release of the Epstein files?” she said, before Trump interrupted, denying involvement and using facts to back up his assertion.
