A recent Joe Biden press conference descended into chaos as the reporters shouted questions at the president, who appeared unable to handle the disorganized situation. As Biden was being indecipherably yelled at, he scanned the room from the podium with a slight grin on his face. Eventually, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was forced to interject and bring the room back to order.
Conservative commentator Collin Rugg shared a clip of the incident to X, writing, “White House briefing room descends into chaos as President Biden stands in front of shouting reporters, not knowing who to call on. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre jumped in to save Biden as reporters shouted at him, trying to ask questions. At one point during the briefing, Biden made sure to let reporters know that all his policies also belong to Kamala Harris, something Harris has been trying to distance herself from.”
Once the order was restored to the press briefing, a reporter asked Biden about Vice President Kamala Harris’s role in the administration, particularly as several ongoing crises unfolded. However, Biden’s answer has sparked controversy, with some suggesting it is an intentional jab at Harris’ campaign.
“There obviously been a number of crises been facing over the past several days with the hurricane. There have obviously been a number of crises that the country has been facing over the past several days with the hurricane, with the port strike, with the situation in the Middle East. Can you talk about how your vice president, who is running for the presidency, has worked on these crises, and what role she has played over the past several days?” the reporter asked.
“Well, she’s, I’m in constant contact with her. She’s aware where we all were singing from the same song sheet. We she helped pass all the laws that are being employed now. She was a major player in everything we’ve done, including passage of legislation, which we were told we could never pass, And so she’s been, and her her staff is interlocked with mine, in terms of all the things we’re doing,” Biden replied.
One of most significant criticisms of Vice President Harris is that she has not accomplished much of her agenda despite spending over three years in the White House. The obvious rebuttal to this Republican talking point has been that she is not the sitting president, and is therefore not responsible for effectively implementing her agenda.
However, Biden’s statements indicating he has delegated significant responsibility and decision-making to Kamala Harris defeat this argument, suggesting she has real executive power. CNN pundit Scott Jennings suggested this is an intentional move from Biden. “He is literally trying to destroy her campaign, and it’s just incredible,” he said.

CNN HOST ACCUSES HIM OF SABOTAGING KAMALA’S CAMPAIGN Scott Jennings said Biden was “literally trying to destroy her campaign” after he emphasized her role in their administration’s successes and failures. Biden’s surprise press briefing was also criticized for overshadowing Kamala’s speech in Michigan, where she appealed to union workers to endorse her campaign.”
“It looks like Biden’s comments may have unintentionally undermined Harris’s campaign. This raises concerns about party unity and could impact her support among key voters. It’s important for them to present a cohesive front moving forward,” another user said.
