In a sweltering Florida day, Officer Angela Laurella encountered a sight that would change the life of a small dog named Liam. Two dogs were found tied to utility poles in Pompano, Florida, with no witnesses or cameras to shed light on their abandonment. The scorching heat, exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, demanded immediate action. This walk begins at Tower hill car park at the highest point of the Scrouty road.  Interestingly Tower hill is also known locally as the ‘Black door’ due to there being an old wooden door entrance to the woods nearby.  This walk is predominantly a woodland trek but does take in a short section of local road.  There is evidence of delightful stone boundary walls around the route which predate much of the woodland.  The main feature of the trail is the standout local landmark, De La Poer Tower, a folly built in 1785 by the first Marquis of Waterford, George De La Poer Beresford, Earl of Tyrone, in memory of his son who died in a horse riding accident [2]. At the ‘black door’ entrance to Tower hill woods walk a few metres straight ahead and take the first pathway to the right.  This walk is short so can be savoured at a leisurely pace, enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings.  After a few hundred metres and slight descent you will meet a pathway that leads to the right.  Do not take this route but keep walking straight ahead.  From here until you reach the exit to the local road there are… CONTINUE READING…

Megyn Kelly has ‘destroyed’ Robert De Niro’s comments on the American people.. During an interview on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” she discussed the actor’s political activism and its potential impact. Recalling her time at Fox News, Kelly mentioned an exclusive interview where De Niro openly criticized Trump for the first time during his campaign against Hillary Clinton. “We had Robert De Niro on camera in an exclusive rant about the ex president.” Kelly said. “It was the first time he’d really come out and said how he felt about politics. During the 14th and 15th centuries, Hunedoara was the main iron extraction and processing centers in Transylvania. Swords and spears manufactured here during this period were renowned across Europe. The castle’s courtyard features a 94-ft. well dug into stone, in the 15th Century.Legend says that the wheel was dug by three Turkish prisoners who were promised freedom when job was done.It took them 15 years and 28 days to reach water. On April 13, 1854 a fire caused by lightning have destroyed all the wooden parts of Corvin castle (the roof, wooden beams, stairs, ceilings and doors) except the five-hundred years old door of the dungeon. After 10 years of abbandonment, a 40-years long restoration process began. A unique feature of the castle is the ‘Nje Boisia’ tower, a five-levels structure with several openings for firearms, built for military purposes,.   The tower is connected to the castle through a 100-ft. long ‘suspended’ corridor, built on massive pillars.
