Many feline companions spend much of their time exploring the outdoors, only coming inside for meals, rest, or a bit of affection. This independence makes cats relatively low-maintenance pets compared to dogs, but it also means that their grooming often falls entirely on their owners. Without proper and consistent grooming, a cat’s coat can quickly become a serious problem. This harsh reality became painfully clear in the case of Hidey, a cat whose story touched hearts worldwide. Hidey’s owner was battling Alzheimer’s disease, which severely impacted their ability to care for their beloved pet. Unfortunately, this meant Hidey went without proper grooming for years. The result was devastating: Hidey’s fur became so severely matted and tangled that she resembled an octopus more than a cat. When animal rescuers finally found Hidey, they were shocked by her condition. Flash flooding slammed parts of Wisconsin on Saturday evening, forcing an airport to close and left residents trapped inside their homes.  Torrential rainfall battered the Badger State, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a flash flooding warning for Milwaukee, West Allis and Wauwatosa. Images emerged of flood waters rising over cars in the state, in one clip a man is seen stranded sitting on the hood of a car as fast flowing water passes him.  Other videos shared online show streets in the state flooded with rainfall totals exceeding six inches in some parts of the state, the NWS said. Residents near the Menomonee River were reportedly trapped inside their homes in the early hours of Sunday morning after severe flooding swamped the area.  Mitchell International Airport said just after 3 AM on Sunday morning that all of their runways bar one was flooded.  The brutal storms also forced the Wisconsin State Fair to close early and cancel their main stage performance, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
