On June 11th, Al Roker, the beloved host of the Today show, took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of his family’s loss – their cherished dog, Pepper, had passed away at the age of 12. Pepper had been a significant part of their lives, as Roker expressed in his touching post: “Twelve years ago, this sweet little girl named Pepper changed our lives. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye. While our hearts are heavy, they are also fuller because of all the love she bestowed on everyone who got to meet her.” Pepper’s passing has left a void in the Roker family, and Al did not disclose any specific details surrounding her death. Vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently received an amazing welcome from college football fans in Greenville, North Carolina.  After landing in the afternoon, Vance and his wife first visited a popular bar, where he interacted with locals who were excited to see the Ohio senator.  Later in the day, the couple went to East Carolina University’s Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium, where fans cheered on Trump’s running mate. As the couple arrived at the stadium, a large crowd chanted “USA” as they exited their vehicles with their security detail.  Before the beginning of the matchup between the East Carolina University Pirates and the Appalachian State University Mountaineers, JD and Usha stood on the field for the national anthem.  While Vance has no loyalty to North Carolina football, he has been a lifelong fan of his alma mater, the Ohio State Buckeyes. During a recent campaign event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Vice Presidential candidate JD Vane received a question from a reporter on whether he supports a national abortion ban.  The left has constantly tried to attack the Trump-Vance campaign by cornering them with questions about such a ban, as the topic of abortion is contentious and divisive among voters. As the reporter asked the question, she was immediately drowned out by the crowd booing her for bringing up the topic.  However, Vance was applauded for his professionalism and confidence in addressing the controversial question.  “Senator Vance, what’s your message to Pennsylvania voters on abortion? Has your opinion changed? Do you think there should be a national ban, or should it be left up to the states?” the senator was asked. In a hilarious rebuke of his interviewer during the Sunday, September 15 broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union,” Senator and Trump 2024 running mate JD Vance sounded off on CNN’s Dana Bash and asked whether she would like to debate him rather than pretend to ask him questions but then not let him answer them. The context of Sen. Vance’s rebuke of Bash, who also interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris in what many on the right claimed was quite the softball interview, was that  Bash was pressing Sen. Vance about the situation in Springfield, Ohio. As a reminder, Springfield has seen a massive influx of Haitians under the Biden-Harris Administration, something that has led to a national outcry. Indeed, former President Donald Trump brought up the situation in the September 10 presidential debate, commenting on accusations that pets in the town have gone missing due to the Haitians. According to recent reports, CNN has been hit with a major lawsuit that could shed light on confidential internal information. The legal measure regarding the disastrous 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan seeks to obtain CNN’s total valuation and could reportedly expose highly guarded financial “secrets” about the network. The lawsuit was filed by Zachary Young, the owner of Newmex Enterprises Inc., who claims that CNN reporters defamed his business after publishing a story on his company’s involvement in the withdrawal from Afghanistan that went horribly wrong.  According to the suit, CNN insinuated that Young’s company had illegally profited while helping evacuate Americans and Afghans amid the chaos.  Young has demanded that CNN provide transparency into its finances so a fair penalty can be determined. The intense presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday night has drawn mixed reactions from voters across the country and a lack of consensus as to who came out as the winner.  While Democrats maintain that Harris delivered a strong performance, some debate viewers were not sold on the vice president. A survey of 10 people who claim to be undecided about which candidate they will choose in the upcoming election revealed that 6 respondents claimed they would either certainly or most likely vote for Trump over Harris. Three participants said they would vote for Harris, while one remained undecided.  This marks a sharp contrast to the consensus among liberal media pundits that Kamala Harris won. David Solomon, the powerful  Wall Street executive whose research was cited in Tuesday night’s presidential debate, knocked Vice President Kamala Harris for using Goldman Sachs’ report to unfairly claim that her policies would result in a stronger economy. Despite regularly railing against big banks like Goldman, Harris was quick to cite a recent report concluding her economic policies would be marginally better for economic growth, though negligible in the long run. The latter is a crucial piece of evidence that Harris left out, Solomon stated when asked if he watched the debate. “I think a lot more has been made of this than should be,” he told CNBC host Scott Wapner. “What it did is look at a handful of policy issues that have been put out by both sides, and it tried to model their impact on GDP growth… What it showed is the difference between the sets of policies they put forward is about two-tenths of one percent.” No matter who wins office next year, markets historically react favorably during the first year of a new president. Conservative media icon and podcast host Tucker Carlson recently became the top podcaster in the nation.  On Thursday, “The Tucker Carlson Show” jumped to the number-one position on the Spotify charts, overtaking “The Joe Rogan Experience.”  Tucker’s departure from his role as a long-time host at Fox News last year clearly has not hindered his influence as a conservative commentator. “The Tucker Carlson Show” earning the highly coveted chart-topping rank is especially monumental, considering that Joe Rogan is often considered a pioneer of the modern podcasting format.  Rogan launched his show in 2009, and by 2015, it had unquestionably become one of the most popular podcasts in the world.  However, Carlson has topped the podcast king as American society evidently craves insightful conservative commentary amid the current political landscape. When Carlson and Fox News ended their relationship in 2023, many speculated as to Tucker’s next move.
