Cheesy Cattle Drive Casserole

Posted on August 5, 2024 By sg4vo No Comments on Cheesy Cattle Drive Casserole

My family loves this dish! Cattle Drive Casserole. Now that’s a name for a meal. Regardless of whether you’ve been on one, the point of this stuffed-to-the-brim dish is that it could fuel you up and keep you full during a cattle drive, were you to go on one. And that’s just fine with us! Along with ground beef, tomatoes, chiles, bell pepper and onion, this recipe’s got one unexpected ingredient…bisquick! That’s right, we start this bad boy off with a hearty biscuit layer to soak up all the great flavors of everything going on above it, then we top it all off with a green chile-sour cream-mayo situation that adds both flavor and creaminess, and we can’t get enough of it. If you’re looking at this ingredient list and thinking that’s a lot to throw into one dish – you’re not wrong, but it all comes together in a delicious, zesty way, and you’re going to be completely hooked. Seriously, the highlight here is how perfectly all these ingredients blend together; the spicy beef filling with the creamy chile topping is so, so good, and the biscuit bottom lends balance to all that punched up flavor. Just as good… CONTINUE READING…

Cheesy Italian Spinach Bake

Posted on August 5, 2024August 5, 2024 By sg4vo No Comments on Cheesy Italian Spinach Bake

A three- layered cheesy spinach bake with the perfect crispy breadcrumb topping. You will be salivating over this one. This recipe came from a dish I made for my mom after she had knee replacement surgery. She was low on iron and I had just learned spinach was a great source of iron, but she hated spinach. How could I make spinach taste good? Garlic, cheese, and more cheese. This Italian spinach bake is just that with a crunchy breadcrumb layer on top. I love the idea of this as a creamed spinach vibe, but instead of cream use ricotta and eggs. Cream is so hard on the gut sometimes. This dish will turn any spinach hater into a lover, take it from me. Layered with grated mozzarella, caramelized onions, good Parmigiano Reggiano, and the best garlic sourdough bread crisps that add a crunch to every bite. Try this one for sure. If you’ve followed my recipes for the past couple of years, you know my love for ricotta cheese runs deep. I love how much lower in calories and fat it is than adding cream. If you add it to pasta sauce with some pasta water it adds the… CONTINUE READING…

Mom of rare twins with Down syndrome shows how beautiful they are in spite of critics

Twin pregnancies are still quite uncommon, despite a 72% increase in likelihood between 1980 and 2018. Twins are born in about 33 of every 1,000 births. What are the probabilities of having identical twins? Out of 1,000 births, three to four are identical twins on average. So once more, not very common. Savannah Combs, age 23, was overjoyed to learn she was expecting twins. She then discovered that they both have Down syndrome, which is also unusual. Of course, the information was upsetting. Savannah and her husband Justin Ackerman were aware that due of her illness and the state of her children, some people would judge them. But Savannah finds that to be the same thing that makes them so beautiful. “It’s very rare what they have, but they’ve been my little gems,” she mentioned. Savannah, a Middleburg, Florida native, posted videos of her postpartum journey on TikTok with her kids Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, and the videos immediately acquired popularity. Savannah said in one of her videos that she was advised to abort her children because they wouldn’t survive. She made the choice to keep them and give them a shot. ”Every [prenatal] appointment they were alive was a… CONTINUE READING…

6 Ways the Media is ABUSIVELY Lying to America

Politicians have lied forever. But now, our supposed “friend” and “ally,” the mainstream media, is pushing the lies too. Glenn lays out how the media’s lies are actually a form of mental abuse. Glenn reads an article from The M3ND Project, which provides resources for people hurt by abuse, that lays out 6 kinds of mentally abusive lies: black lies, white lies, half-truths, broken promises, forgetting, and denial. “Hard to know if that was an abuse site you were reading from or an internal Democratic campaign strategy memo,” Glenn’s co-host, Stu Burguiere, says. And just like any abusive relationship, the media’s goal is the same: “power, money, status, or control.” Transcript Below is a rush transcript that may contain errors GLENN: So, Stu, I found something on themendproject.com. This is a place that helps people get away from mental abuse and physical abuse. And now I’m only reading it, just because, you know, I’m not tying this to anything. Because somebody said to me — I read it here at home. My wife was like, I think I see what you’re saying. I said, I’m not saying anything. I’m talking about mental abuse. I’m talking about people unlike the people broadly… CONTINUE READING…

Besiekiery Castle Ruins

Built during the 15th century, this once proud castle stood as a defensive structure and military stronghold in a time of great violence. The castle is located in the village of Besiekiery. The ruins stand alone on a small island surrounded by a moat that now looks more like a garden pond than a threatening obstacle. The bridge that crosses the moat and allows visitors to access the inside of the fortification is currently closed. However, there is open access to view this structure from the outside. It is also free to visit. From the outside, one can see the destruction of invading forces and the reconstruction by wealthy elites through the ages. Know Before You Go When road tripping through Poland, this is a great location for both people and pets to stretch their legs. Post Views: 177

Recipe Tin Project: Swedish Nut Cake

Posted on August 5, 2024August 5, 2024 By sg4vo No Comments on Recipe Tin Project: Swedish Nut Cake

A simple, retro one-bowl cake that couldn’t be more delicious. This may be a vintage recipe but this cake is a classic through and through. And that’s the great thing about The Recipe Tin Project – sometimes you come across a recipe that you otherwise never would have known about but can’t imagine ever doing without again. This Swedish Nut Cake is moist, thanks to a full can of crushed pineapple, but it has some nice crunch too. It also has cream cheese frosting, and I don’t know about you, but I think that makes every cake better. This recipe card came out of an old recipe tin that I’ve been cooking my way through. I call it the Recipe Tin Project. It’s chock full of old recipe cards, most of which seem to be from the ’60s and ’70s. I love food history, and the idea is to breathe new life into these recipes from the past and maybe learn a technique or two from them along the way. The recipes come from different people with different handwriting and some have sweet illustrations while others are on plain (often smudged and stained) index cards. This card comes with a vibrant little… CONTINUE READING…

Internet Goes Wild Over Pic of Barron, Melania

Internet Goes Wild Over Pic of Barron, Melania

In a somewhat rare public appearance for the both of them, former First Lady Melania Trump and Barron Trump, the 18-year-old son of former President and likely 2024 GOP candidate Donald Trump, were caught on tape walking through Mar-a-Lago, headed to Easter brunch in the opulent home and club. Barron’s towering height and Melania’s radiant beauty captured the attention of the internet. The video of the two shows the 6-foot, 7-inch tall Barron towering over his mother, who at nearly six feet tall is far from short himself. The two were dressed in their Sunday best and were headed through the estate to meet the rest of the family for the Easter festivities. That was presumably the same brunch at which the former president was photographed alongside his grandkids, with the internet noting his apparent weight loss. Comments about Barron and Melania particularly came in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the New York Post in which that outlet included pictures of the two walking through Mar-al-Lago in their Sunday best and said, “6-foot-7 Barron Trump towers over mom Melania in rare appearance with The Donald.” Replying to that post, people said things like “Wow. Mrs. Trump is gorgeous” and “He’s throwin that thumbs… CONTINUE READING…
