Whether you’re a pet lover or not, this is a heartbreaking story. A real story. It’s about a woman and her dog, Hannah. And about Hannah’s last days on earth. Hannah began to have seizures that got progressively worse. When she wasn’t on her meds, Hannah could barely navigate stairs and she would often fall down. She was on painkillers and on medication for her kidney. “I finally decided that keeping her on the meds was selfish, but keeping her off of them was just as cruel. So I decided to give her one last hoo-rah day of pampering, like the queen she’s always been, and let her go,” Hannah’s human wrote on Imgur, about the agonizing decision to euthanize her. Hugh Tennent is a man intrinsically linked with Glasgow. He took over his family’s beer firm in 1884 and one year later, after a trip to Germany to see how they brewed their booze, launched Tennent’s Lager. The brand is still one of Scotland’s best known and best loved products and is recognisable the world over. It has always been produced at Wellpark Brewery, just east of the city centre, and brewing at the site dates back to Hugh’s great-great-grandfather (also Hugh) in 1740. But although he died in Glasgow’s west end and is buried in the necropolis facing Wellpark, Hugh didn’t only live in the city. As a teenager, he bought Dunalastair House in Perthshire. Part of a historic estate between Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel, east of Pitlochry, the incredible castle is now abandoned but still cuts an imposing figure as it emerges from the surrounding forest like a ghost from the past. Closer inspection shows the former stately home is now merely a skeletal ruin and a haven for urban explorers. But despite its dilapidated state, the building maintains many of its original external features, including its conical roofs, chimneys and even a coat of arms above the main entrance. The number of U.S. adults who say they are “extremely proud” to be an American has been trending downward since 2015 and is hovering near a record low in Gallup’s most recent poll.  Two in five Americans (41%) said they are “extremely proud” to be American, according to a Gallup poll of 1,005 randomly selected adults between June 3 and June 23. This was the fifth year in a row that this particular reading has been in the 38% to 43% range, Gallup reported.  Meanwhile, the combined 67% of Americans who said they are either “extremely” or “very proud” was among the lowest in Gallup’s findings – just four percentage points above the record low of 63% in 2020.  Some 18% of Americans said they are “moderately proud” to be American, while 10% said they are “only a little” proud and 5% are “not at all” proud, according to the poll, which was released just before the Fourth of July.  Number who say they’re ‘extremely proud’ to be an American Americans’ national pride was the highest following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Gallup said.   RELATED: Toby Keith: The story behind country singer’s hit ‘Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue’ Republicans express more U.S…. Sometimes a witty answer can have hilarious and unexpected results. These stories highlight instances when a flash of humour made things right. One late evening, a husband texted his wife, asking her to make his favourite cuisine and wash his soiled clothing before he came home. It surprised me that no one responded. Unfazed, he texted his wife again, telling her that he was going to purchase her a new automobile and that his salary increased. “OMG, really?” the happy wife exclaimed in response. “No, I just wanted to make sure you got my first message,” the spouse replied. In another story, a guy found his ten-year wife packing her luggage when he got home. Perplexed, he asked where she’s going. With confidence, his wife answered, “I’m heading to Las Vegas! I’ve found that some men will pay me $500 in cash to provide the services I perform for you for free!” The man, taken aback by her disclosure, considered for a while before choosing to pack his own bags. This splendid spring has an extraordinary shape and color and is one of the sources of the longest river in Dalmatia – the Cetina. It runs for about 65 miles before letting out into the Adriatic Sea. Its waters flow at the foot of the Dinara, the highest mountain massif in Croatia. It is known as the “eye of the earth” due to its strong resemblance to an eye with varied shades of blue and turquoise. Seen from above, it is undoubtedly one of the most particular and fascinating beauties of the region. This small body of water is formed by a hole that penetrates depths unknown of the Earth, explored by divers who made it to 115 meters. This natural karst splendor leaves all visitors speechless. The source is off the main tourist routes, located in Milasevo, near a small village called Cetina. It can be found via a path that leads straight from an Orthodox church, and further downstream, not far from the source lie the remains of one of the oldest Croatian churches which dates back to the 9th century. All shelter dogs dream of finding a home of their own, but some dogs get passed over time and time again, and begin to lose hope that they’ll ever get adopted. That’s what one heartbreaking viral photo showed, as a 3-year-old shelter dog looks devastated after not getting adopted again. But despite everything, there is still hope for this lonely dog… Rocky, a 3-year-old pit bull, has been in the care of Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester since October 2022, when his family was evicted from their home and could no longer care for him, according to Newsweek. Since then, Rocky has been adopted out twice only to be returned to the shelter, along with a few two-week adoption trial periods. Despite these glimmers of hope, Rocky has always ended up back where he started. “He was most recently returned this past September and has had no luck since. He’s a great dog, but he would thrive in a certain type of home that may be more difficult to find,” communications specialist Lindsay Brewer told Newsweek, explaining that Rocky would do best as the only dog in an adults-only home.
