It was a fairly standard procedure—nothing out of the ordinary, based on the diagnosis and everything the surgeon explained. From the start, the situation seemed straightforward, and we weren’t expecting any complications. However, there were a few things that stood out to me as unusual, especially in how the scheduling of the surgery played out. Originally, the surgery was booked for a specific day, which we had both planned around. Then, about a week before that date, the hospital contacted her and said the surgery needed to be moved up due to what they called “a special situation” involving room availability.
